North Webster Knights fell just short against District foe Wossman, dropping their record to 3-2 on the season with a 28-21 loss.
The Knights defense had a tough time getting the Wildcats off the field as Wossman controlled the ball most of the night. For the first time this season the North Webster defense failed to force a turnover.
The Knights’ offense had their moments, but a pair of turnovers in the first half were too costly to overcome.
The Knights’ first touchdown came off a 50 yard run by running back Braedon Robertson. North Webster’s second touchdown came on their first drive of the second half with quarterback Christian Whitlock finding senior Xavier McGlothan on a deep ball from 20 yards out.
Trailing 28-14 North Webster would mount another scoring drive capped off by a 5-yard J’Kobe Lawson touchdown run with just over 6 minutes remaining in the contest.
The Knights defense came close to giving their offense the ball back but a pair of 4th down conversions put the game to bed.
North Webster will look to rebound on the road next week as they visit Union Parish.
