Webster Parish 4-H Shooting Sports registration is now open. For those interested in learning more about shooting sports, a registration day will be held at the practice range on Landfill Road in Dixie Inn from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, October 21.
Shooting Sports offers a variety of different disciplines to 4-H’ers in grades 4th-12th including BB, Shotgun, Archery, .22 Rifle, Air Rifle, Air Pistol and Hunting Skills. Registration worksheets can be filled out at or mailed to the Extension Office at 1202 Homer Road in Minden or on Outdoor Skills Sign Up Day at the practice range in Dixie Inn on October 21. Outdoor Skills fees and forms should not be turned in to the school club leader and should be sent directly to the Extension Office.
Registration fees are $15 for one discipline and $5 for each additional discipline. Fees will be collected at the time of registration.
In order to practice for Outdoor Skills, a 4-H’er must turn in both a general 4-H enrollment form and the outdoor skills registration worksheet as well as pay both parish/school dues and outdoor skills project club fees.
In order to compete at regional and state events, all shooting sports participants must attend at least eight hours per discipline of organized practice at the practice range. All competitors that are 10 years of age or older as of January 1, 2024 are required to obtain a hunter’s safety permit. Participants are not required to compete.
