A Servant’s Heart

Mark 10:45

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

When I think about a true servant, Jesus Christ  comes to my mind.

Having a servant’s heart is about loving  and helping  people. Telling them about the good news of Christ.

It’s not about what  we can gain, but  about making a positive impact for God’s kingdom by serving others with the love of God and the right motives.

When you’re a true servant of Jesus, nothing nor anyone is beneath you!

Jesus Christ became a servant when He obeyed God’s will. He was a servant when he washed the feet of his disciples.

Look at the life of Jesus! He was the greatest example of how we should serve others with a servant’s  heart.

We should be humble and serve others, not to be glorified in self, but to give God the glory for having a servants heart.

We can do acts of service and still not be a servant if our motives are for  selfish reasons. Such as benefiting self only and not others!

Jesus came to serve others not to be served.  What a great example  to follow.

We are to serve others with the right motives. “A life of purpose is a life of service.”

True servanthood begins with selflessness, maintains humility, and ultimately seeks the good of others, which requires the right heart and right attitude.

6 attributes of being a servant:

1.) We serve God by serving others with humility.

2.)We serve God  by genuinely loving others.

3.) We serve God by being obedient to his word.

4.) We serve God by helping the sick.

5.) We serve God by feeding the hungry.

6.) We serve God by serving the widows.

A life of purpose is a life of service!

Serve  the Lord with gladness.

Psalm 100:2

Let all we do be done in love.

1 Corinthians 16:14

Prayer: Thank you God for your grace and mercy, thank you for giving your life for a ransom, you humbled yourself and became a servant.  Thank you  God for your son Jesus who was the greatest example  for us to follow.  Help us Lord to deny ourselves and be better servants by serving others.  In Jesus Name Amen
