A Claiborne Parish man got on the wrong side of the law in Webster Thursday afternoon when he entered a vehicle uninvited, struck a juvenile several times and then broke into a residence.
Steven Duane Raymond, 36, of the 5900 block of Hwy. 80, Arcadia, was arrested by Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies Chris Madonna and Tommy Maddox for home invasion and cruelty to a juvenile.
Sheriff Jason Parker said Raymond entered a vehicle in the parking lot of a local discount store in Minden.
“The complainant’s son said Raymond struck him several times in the face and back with his hands,” Parker said. “Deputy Madonna observed marks on the juvenile, and the complainant’s daughter said she witnessed the incident from the backseat of the vehicle.”
According to reports, Raymond then went to the complainant’s residence on Calvin Liner Road, Minden, where he allegedly broke a window in the son’s bedroom in order to gain entrance. The daughter and grandmother were also in the house.
Raymond was arrested and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
