Two Minden residents were arrested Wednesday for possessing multiple drugs.

Jeffery Earl Duck, 48, of the 11000 block of Hwy. 80, Minden, was arrested by Minden Police and charged with possession of methamphetamine, Suboxone and drug paraphernalia.

Donna Lynn Brown, 44, of the 100 block of Ash Street, Minden, is charged with possession of Adderall, Vyvanse, Gabapentin, driving left of center and failure to signal a turn.

Police Chief Jared McIver said officers noticed a traffic violation at East Todd and Lewisville Road around 3 a.m. Dec. 6.

“Lt. Chris Hammontree was patrolling the area when he noticed the vehicle did not signal a turn more than 100 feet from a stop sign,” McIver said. “He initiated the stop on McArthur Street and made contact with Brown, who was driving the 2005 Sierra and Duck who was the passenger.”

Brown reportedly gave consent to search the vehicle to Lt. Hammontree, Ofc. Ben Sparks and Off. Cadyn O’Connor.

On the side of the vehicle under the passenger’s feet area was a used syringe with a small amount of liquid inside that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

“Duck told officers the syringe belonged to his aunt who was diabetic,” said the chief. “In Duck’s pocket was a needle cap matching the needles he claimed were not his. In his wallet were three 8 mg. Suboxone strips.”

Duck reportedly said he did not have a prescription for them.

In the center console and on the backseat, officers reportedly located Gabapentin Non XR, Vyvanse in with 5 Adderall pills, as well as other prescription drugs.

Duck and Brown were arrested, booked into Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
