Football All-District and All-State Awards Handed Out

Local coaches released the football all-district awards around the area.   

Glenbrook’s Chase Sentell was selected for three slots on the LFCA 1A All-State team.  Sentell was selected for first team tight end-wide receivers.   Sentell filled two slots on second team as a running back on offense and defensive back on defense.  Sentell also filled an offensive slot as a flanker/wingback and a defensive slot as a defensive back on the first team District 1-A all-district team.  Garrett Brown also made both the offensive and defensive first team all-district as a tight end and linebacker, respectively.  Landy Powell was selected to first team offense as an wide receiver and second team defense as a linebacker.  Jackson Lott was selected on first team offense as center.  Daivari Jackson was chosen for first team defense on the defensive line.  Seth Mangrum received first team honors as a punter.   Second team Apaches were Jackson Waller (WR/DB), Spencer Brantley (OT), Nolan Still (OG), Easton Sanders (K), and Jonathan Bryant (DL)

MInden Crimson Tide had one offensive player and two defensive players make the District 1-4A .  Jonathan Bradford was the sole offensive player to make the first team in the monstrous District 1-4A.  Bradford was selected for offensive line.   Demetrius Robinson was selected on the defensive line.  Jakobe Jackson was selected as defensive athlete first team, offensive athlete on second team, defensive back second team.   Other second team Crimson Tide members were Dunovan Robinson (RB), Cameron Mitchell (WR), Garrett Dooley (OL), and James Williams (OL).  Honorable mentions were Nolan Garms (TE), Denarius Crowe (OL), Jarvis Davis (OL), Landyn Huddleston (LB), Alderick Edwards (LB), Brian Turner (DB), Ketric Kimble (DB).

 The sole 3A school in Northwest Louisiana, North Webster has to travel to Monroe for all of their district games.  The Purple Knights added 7 to the first team and 8 to the second team.  Xavier “Tutt” McGlothan was the sole North Webster player to fill two slots on the first team as he was selected as first team athlete and defensive back.   J’Kobe Lawson was selected as first team wide receiver.   Cody Beshea was chosen for the first team offensive line.   Braedon Robertson was given first team honors as running back.  Avante Curry gave the Knights representation on first team defensive line.  Ja’Myrion Jackson and Ke’Maurion Jefferson were both selected to first team linebackers.  Second team Knights were Xander Thompson (TE), Hunter Evans (OL), Sam Morgan (OL), Hudson Smith (OL), Braylon Richardson (DL), Cam Lewis (DB), Jasavion Miller (DB), and Jeremiah Washington (DB).

Lakeside Warriors placed seven players on the District 1-2A second teams.   Second team Warriors were Jordan Case (RB), James Scott Wojtkeiwiz (OL), Jac Ebarb (OL), Jamarion Evans (DL), Caleb Barber (LB), Eli Santelices (LB), and Jeremiah Allen (DB).  

Webster Parish Represented at I-20 East-West All-Star Game

The I-20 East West All-Star Game was held this past weekend at Ruston High School.   Webster Parish had three representative for the West Team.   Jakobe Jackson from Minden High School was selected to play.  Xavier McGlothan traveled down from Springhill to give North Webster a representative.   Chase Sentell from Glenbrook was chosen for the West Team.  East took their fifth consecutive win with a 15-14 win on Saturday. 

Doyline’s Izayla Harris Signs With Alcorn State

The back-to-back Most Outstanding Athlete in Class B in track and field from Doyline has made her decision where she will be running track in college.  Izayla Harris signed her letter of intent to become an Alcorn State Brave on December 10.  Harris had a record breaking state meet this past May as she broke the Class B record in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 400 meter dash.  Along with winning those state titles she also claimed the state runner-up in the triple jump.   Harris also captured state titles in 2022 in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash.
