Time to register for Mardi Gras parade

If you are more of a doer than a seer, maybe you want to be in the middle of Minden’s Mardi Gras parade.

Local businesses, community organizations, and schools are invited to participate in the parade by entering a float or joining the procession. Interested participants can register online at https://www.mindenla.org/mainstreet-page/ .

“This year’s Mardi Gras Parade is set to be a highlight of our community calendar,” said Taylor Wren, Minden Main Street Director. “We encourage everyone to join us for an evening of joy, laughter and community spirit. The parade is a fantastic way to celebrate our unique culture and create lasting memories with family and friends.”

For spectators, this is an opportunity to experience the magic of Mardi Gras right in their own backyards.

Then parade will start at 5 p.m. Saturday,  January 27, in downtown Minden.

“This lively and colorful event promises to bring the spirit of fasching to the heart of the community, featuring vibrant floats, festive music and an unforgettable atmosphere,” Wren added.

It kicks off at E.S. Richardson and follows Elm St, weaving its way through Minden. (See parade route map.)

“Attendees can expect a visually stunning procession, with participants donning creative costumes, tossing beads, and showcasing the rich cultural traditions associated with Mardi Gras,” Wren said.
