Just in: four-vehicle accident on-I-20 eastbound, west of milemarker 44. One vehicle and three 18-wheelers, including a tanker truck leaking diesel from the fuel tank. Both lanes are blocked.

It’s a good idea to remain off the streets today.

Big rigs are reportedly “spinning out” on Interstate 20, and traffic has been backed up eastbound significantly. Minden Police and Louisiana State Police are on the scene and at 10:07 a.m., traffic was moving again. DOTD is reportedly sending salt trucks to aid with the situation.

Minden Mayor Nick Cox says City workers are “constantly” sanding inside the city limits.

As of 9:45 a.m., the temperature has risen to 19 degrees and the sun is shining. High near 28, but wind chill values as low as 2 with winds from the north 5 to 10 miles per hour.
