Minden Mayor Nick Cox presented a proclamation declaring Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 as “Carleton Prothro Day” to beloved Webster Parish educator and administrator Carleton H. Prothro earlier this week at St. John’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Carleton and his wife, Lois, relocated to Mooresville, North Carolina on Monday, where they will live temporarily with their son and his wife until they move into their assisted living residence. The church honored the Prothros with a public farewell luncheon, and helped Carleton celebrate his 92nd birthday with plenty of birthday cake. The day started out with lashing rain and thunder, but cleared up just in time for the celebration of the man who has been a beloved part of Minden and Webster Parish since 1958.
