Lakeside 21, Minden High, 10

Despite leading by as many as five runs, Minden High School Lady Tiders fell to Lakeside Monday.

The Lady Tiders collected 11 hits and Lakeside had 15 in the high-scoring affair.

Lakeside got on the board in the first inning after Hallie Sutton singled, scoring one run.

The Lady Tiders jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Tatum Oliver singled, scoring one run and Jacey Adams tripled, scoring two runs.

An error and a single by Kylie Ryan helped Minden extend an early lead in the second.

Lakeside flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring seven runs on seven hits to take a 88-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Raleigh Harris that drove in two.

The Lady Warriors scored six runs on three hits in theta of the fourth inning. Emily Jones homered to left field, scoring three runs and Kenzie McCoy doubled, scoring three runs.

Lakeside scored five runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. An error scored three runs, and Rainie Hughes singled, scoring two runs.

Harris earned the win for Lakeside. They surrendered six hits and six runs (four earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one one and walking none. Ryan took the loss for Minden. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking two.

The Lady Tiders amassed 11 hits in the game. Adams led Minden with three hits in three at-bats. Ryan and Leigha Kennon-Gilbert collected multiple hits and stolen bases

Lakeside tallied 15 hits in the game. Harris led with three hits in five at-bats. Hughes led Lakeside with four runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 2 for 5 on the day. Lexi Wood, Rhea Waller and Sutton collected multiple hits.

Doyline Lady Panthers 2, North Webster Knights, 9

Doyline Lady Panthers had trouble keeping up with North Webster Knights Monday.

The Knights got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after NWHS scored on a wild pitch. Adryana White doubled, Madison Morgan grounded out and Emma Newsom singled, each scoring one run.

The Knights added two runs in the second after Kenny Brown tripled.

A single by Anna Ray extended the lead to 8-2 in the bottom of the third inning.

Sarah Gill pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Doyline. They surrendered seven hits and five runs (three earned) while, striking out three and walking two. Savannah Stanley stepped in the circle first for the Panthers. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and four runs (three earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking four. Newsom started in the circle for North Webster. They surrendered eight hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three.

Gill led the Lady Panthers with three hits in four at-bats. Stanley and Gill drove in one run. Adrianna Crump collected two hits for Doyline in four at-bats.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

Minden High 12, Saline 0

Kylie Ryan struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led Minden High School Lady Tiders past Saline Tuesday. Ryan allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings while walking one.

The Lady Tiders won thanks in part to nine runs in the third inning. An error scored two runs, Lizzie Balkom singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Leigha Kennon-Gilbert drew a walk, scoring one run, Lindsay Ryan tripled, scoring three runs and Kylie Ryan singled, scoring one run.

A passed ball put Minden on board in the bottom of the first. A hit by a pitch extended the Lady Tiders’ lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second.

Ryan and Balkom each collected two hits for Minden. Ryan led Minden with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4on the day. Kennon-Gilbert paced the Tiders with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.

Kennon-Gilbert stole two bases, while the team ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game.

Doyline 4, Forest 5

Doyline Lady Panthers fell to Forest Tuesday on the final play of the game. It was tied at four in the bottom of the eighth when Emma McCallie doubled, scoring one run.

The Panthers were the first to get on the board in the first when Sariyah Gill drew a walk, scoring one run. Doyline took the lead in the top of the third. Karmadie Bartlett drew a walk, scoring one run, to give Doyline the leg up, 2-1.

Bartlett was struck by a pitch which helped Doyline tie the game at four in theta of the fifth. Gill stepped in the circle first for Doyline. The righty allowed four hits and four runs (one earned) over six and one-third  innings, striking out eight and walking two.

Lanie Gates and Keily Sumlin each collected two hits for Doyline. Canyon Bartlett paced the Lady Panthers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. They accumulated four stolen bases.

Glenbrook 3, Quitman 4

Glenbrook Lady Apaches fell to Quitman Lady Wolverines Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Maggie Guyotte singled, scoring one run.

The Lady Apaches were the first to get on the board in the first when Gabi Brown hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

They took the lead in the top of the fourth, when an error scored two runs to give Glenbrook the edge 3-2.

Rebecca Mosley took the loss for Glenbrook. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking five.

Leadoff hitter Vivian Still led with two hits in four at-bats. Brown led with one run batted in.
