Glenbrook Apaches 13, Haughton Bucs 8
Landry Powell collected four hits in four at-bats, as Glenbrook Apaches defeated Haughton Bucs Thursday.
Powell tripled in the sixth inning, singled in the third, doubled in the seventh and singled in the third.
The Apaches got on the board in the first inning after Dawson Day singled, scoring one run. The Bucs captured the lead 3-1 in the bottom of the second.
The Apaches flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring seven runs on four hits to take an 8-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was the single by Powell that drove in two.
Sam Ricord earned the win for Glenbrook. He surrendered eight hits and six runs over three and two thirds innings, striking out three and walking five.
Glenbrook accumulated 11 hits in the game. Day collected two hits in three at-bats. Day led the team with two of seven walks for the game.
Lakeside Warriors 0, Cedar Creek Cougars 1
Lakeside watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 1-0 loss to Cedar Creek Thursday.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Hunter Sutton took the loss for Lakeside. The righty went seven innings, allowing one run (zero earned) on five hits, striking out eight and walking one.
Sutton led with two hits in three at-bats, and the Warriors turned two double plays in the game.
Minden Crimson Tide 1, Airline 2
Both teams were strong on the bump Thursday, but Arline was just a little bit stronger at the plate. Brody Bower started the game for Minden and recorded 21 outs. He took the loss for the Tide. He went seven innings, surrendering two runs (zero earned) on six hits, striking out eight and walking one.
Bryson Ranger led Minden with two hits in three at-bats. Hudson Brown led with one run batted in.
Minden Crimson Tide 3, Loyola 2
The Crimson Tide beat Loyola Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Jaxon Smith singled, scoring one run.
Both teams were strong on mound. Minden pitchers struck out four while Loyola sat down five.
Brody Bower singled which helped Minden tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.
Zander Rowell earned the win. He surrendered 11 hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two.
Rowell also made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Bower provided popping the middle of the lineup. He led the team with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. The Tide turned two double plays.

Doyline Panthers 3, Cedar Creek Cougars 14
Doyline Panthers couldn’t keep up with Cedar Creek Friday.
The Panthers opened the scoring in the top of the first, thanks to two singles. They got on the board first when Dakota Stewart singled, scoring one run.
Benton Bates began the game for Panthers. The righty gave up six hits and seven runs (one earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking two.
Stewart, Austin Arbaugh and Zach Normand each collected one hit for Doyline. Stewart and Normand were a one-two punch in the lineup as each drove in a run.
Sat., March 9
Doyline Panthers 3, Taylor Tigers 12
Austin Arbaugh led things off on the bump for Doyline. The starter allowed four hits and six runs (three earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking four.
Noah Spears and Dakota Stewart were a one-two punch in the lineup as each drove in one run for Doyline. Cayden Mingo collected two hits in four at-bats, and the Panthers turned one double play.
Doyline 0, Loyola 2
Both teams were strong on the mound Saturday, but Loyola Flyers was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their victory over the Panthers.
Noah Spears started the game for Doyline and recorded 18 outs. Spears took the loss. The righty went six innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking two.
Spears and Kenneth Lee each collected one hit.
Glenbrook Apaches 1, Haughton Bucs 3
Even though Glenbrook collected five hits to the Bucs’ four, they still fell short Saturday.
Both teams were strong on the hill. Haughton pitchers struck out eight, while Glenbrook sat down four.
A double by Landry Powell put the Apaches on the board in the bottom of the first.
Seth Magnum took the loss for the Apaches. The reliever went four and one-third innings, allowing one run (zero earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking five. Easton Sanders began the game; he allowed two hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three.
Powell went 2-for-3 at the plate as the catcher led the team with one run batted in. The Apaches turned one double play.
Glenbrook Apaches 2, Haughton Bucs 10
The Apaches collected eight hits to the Bucs’ seven, but they still accepted defeat in the second game Saturday.
Ryan Reagan took the loss for Glenbrook. The reliever went four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out four and walking one. Jackson Waller began the game. The starter gave up four hits and six runs over one inning, striking out two and walking three.
Waller and Preston Frye each drove in one run.
Lakeside Warriors 1, Airline Vikings 7
Lakeside Warriors had trouble keeping up with the Vikings Saturday.
Jordan Isbell took the loss for Warriors. The righty went five innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking none.
Isbell set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Warriors with two hits in three at-bats.
North Webster Knights 0, D’Arbonne Woods Timberwolves 11
North Webster Knights couldn’t keep up with D’Arbonne Woods Saturday.
Sawyer Wages stepped on the hill first for the Knights. The righty surrendered eight hits and 11 runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one.
North Webster Knights 7, D’Arbonne Woods Timberwolves 16
Even though the Knights and the Timberwolves both had their opportunities, it was D’Arbonne Woods that eventually prevailed in the second game Saturday. The Timberwolves were down 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth when Hollen Sterpling doubled, scoring two runs.
The Knights got on the board in the first when Dajuan Coleman hit into a double play, but one run scored.
An error gave the Knights the lead 3-2 in the top of the second, but they committed an error which helped the Timberwolves tie the game at three in the bottom of the inning.
A steal of home by Coleman helped the Knights gain the lead 5-3 in the top of the third.
D’Arbonne Woods captured the lead 6-5 in the bottom of the inning after Nathan Bernard balked, Jamey Fisher grounded out and Thad Franklin grounded out each scoring one run.
A single by Preston Ingle gave the Knights the lead 7-6 in the top of the fourth, but the Timberwolves flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring 10 runs on six hits to take a 16-7 lead.
Bernard took the loss for NWHS. The righty went five and one-third innings, allowing 12 runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking outdone and walking two.
Ingle led the Knights with three hits on four at-bats from the leadoff position. Chandler McKenzie, the ninth hitter, led the way with two runs batted in. Colby Dinkins collected two hits for the Knights in four at-bats. Tanner Temple paced the team with two of the Knights’ six walks. Coleman stole two of the team’s five stolen bases.
