Egg Bash is a smash (hit)

By Paige Gurgainers

Sunday was a beautiful day for a community-wide Easter Egg Bash hosted by the Young Women’s Service Club (YWSC) of Minden.

Club members, along with members of the Youth Challenge Program showed up early to make sure Babb Park was decorated, tables were set up, bounce houses inflated and stuffed eggs were hidden.

Families brought their kids out to enjoy the festivities and a free meal with Disney classics playing in the background.

Last year, due to the weather, the YWSC was not able to go all out. Instead, families were able to drive-thru and receive an Easter bag full of candy-filled eggs and an assortment of goodies to take home. Being able to enjoy the weather and witness the smiling faces of the participants this year was the highlight of YWSC President Jessica Haymon’s day.

“Today could not have been any more perfect” Haymon said. “The weather was beautiful, and it was joyous to see all the kids laughing and running around. Of course, this event is possible due to our generous sponsors, and we look forward to Easter egg bash 2025!”

Sponsors for the 2023 YWSC Easter Egg Bash were Carter Federal Credit Union, b1bank, GBT, Home Federal Bank, Debbie Callender with LaState Realty, State Farm Agent Laura Horton and Hugh Wood Catering and Specialty Meats.
