City of Minden concludes successful Pet Mayor election; raises $21,695 for Animal Control Facility

The City of Minden is thrilled to announce the conclusion of its inaugural Pet Mayor Election. This fundraising event not only provided entertainment, but also contributed significantly to a noble cause. A remarkable total of $21,695 was raised for the construction of the City’s new animal control facility.

The Pet Mayor Election commenced with 48 smart and spunky candidates. After a spirited campaign period, the votes have been tallied, and we are delighted to introduce the newly-elected pet officials:

Pet Mayor – Maverick (William Zackry Dick)
Chief of Pawlice – Kimber (Benji Dumas)
Fur Chief – BB (Ashley and Justin McVey)
Pet Council – Jax (Sara McDaniel)
                      Archie Bullseye Collins (Lindsey Collins)
                      Raglee’ (John Collins)
                      Bubble Ann “Bubbles” (Regenia Pennington)
                      Tinkerbell “Tink” (Julie Benton)
 The Collaring Ceremony honoring these pets will take place at Miller Quarters Park at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 30.
