Loyola’s service to community lures Jeffus to New Orleans

Louisiana Ambassador, local philanthropist and recent Louisiana Tech University graduate, Ethan Jeffus, widely known throughout the state for his initiative known as the “Little Free Pantry Louisiana,” has recently been touring law schools.

Jeffus graduated from Tech last November with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration. He was accepted into Louisiana State University, Tulane, Baylor and a few other out-of-state schools but has made his decision to accept an offer from Loyola Law School and will begin there in August.

“I accepted an offer at Loyola Law primarily because of the value held in service to the community by the university,” said Jeffus.

Along with his acceptance, he was also offered the Ignatian Law Scholars Award. This award is one of the highest honors offered by Loyola Law and is awarded to under 20 admitted students each year. It recognizes particularly promising members entering the law school class who have applications reflecting the Jesuit values of commitment to academic excellence and service to others- two traits that Jeffus has practiced and mastered since a very early age.

“I feel that in attending Loyola Law as an Ignatian Law Scholar I will be granted a unique learning opportunity that will not only challenge me but connect me with like-minded individuals further igniting my passion for the law and service to others,” said Jeffus. “Service is a big part of who I am, so I see it as a privilege to be accepted and recognized as an Ignatian Law Scholar at a university in my home state.”

Jeffus is excited to pursue his legal education here in Louisiana and will take full advantage of the opportunity to continue his ongoing service efforts across the state.

In addition to preparing for law school this Fall he will be leaving in June to spend 6 weeks interning for the Republican National Committee assisting in preparations for the Republican National Convention the following month in July.
