Minden Foundation can help a lot of folks, thanks to the success of their annual fundraiser the 21st Minden Charity Classic this past weekend.

“Our tournament roster was full, and we had a waiting list, which hasn’t been the case since pre-CoVid,” said Minden Foundation Chairman Andy Pendergrass.

Friday night’s dinner and auction were packed into Pine Hills Country Club clubhouse. “I don’t think we could’ve put another person in there,” he added.

All weekend meals were catered by Hugh Wood Catering.

“The course is in better shape than it has been in a long time, and the weather was amazing,” Pendergrass said.

By Monday morning, workers were unaware what the total would be after expenses, however, Pendergrass said the total collected for the entire weekend was around $166,000. He said tournament winners are listed on Minden Foundation’s Facebook page.

The goal of Minden Foundation is to maintain a fund to provide charitable assistance, within the Minden area, primarily for those needs not specifically met by other charities or organizations.  Some examples would be assisting a family that has suffered a house fire, a flood, or a family stricken with a devastating illness that creates a financial hardship.
