Bridge Breakers: Sweet engineering at Minden branch

Saturday was an exciting day at Webster Parish Libraries Minden Branch Discovery Camp with the Bridge Breakers Tinker Lab.

Campers got hands-on experience building bridges using gumdrops and toothpicks.

Young engineers were challenged to see how well their bridges could hold weight and discover why triangles are the most powerful shape.

The room was buzzing with creativity and laughter as everyone experimented with different designs and strategies.

Highlights –

Innovative Designs: Campers came up with some truly creative bridge structures!

Weight Challenge: We tested each bridge’s strength, and some held impressive amounts of weight!

Learning Moments: Everyone learned why triangles are essential in construction.

A huge thank you to all participants for their enthusiasm and creativity.
