All Star games end in losses

The World Series ended for the Minden 7U All Star Baseball Team over the weekend. After going 1-1 in Pool Play Friday, the team was defeated by Ville Platte All Stars by a final score of 3-2. The team had 10 hits in the game, led by Nash Leonard and Brooks Lewis, who both had three hits and each drove in one run a piece for Minden.

In softball, Minden 12U Ponytail All Stars representing Louisiana in their World Series in Virginia, lost Saturday 9-2 ago the Virginia Charlotte County All Stars. Madison Jernigan took the loss for Louisiana Dixie Ponytails 12U Team, allowing three hits and three runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none. Rhea Waller pitched five innings in relief, giving up seven hits and six runs, striking out two and walking two. Rhea Waller, Kenzie Pamintuan, Erin Danza and Emmaline Harmon all collected hits in the loss Saturday.

The team bounced back Sunday, getting a 5-2 win over the Chester Country Ponytails. Lola Huddleston picked up the win for Louisiana, going four innings, allowing two hits and two runs, striking out six and walking four. Jayla Joyner led Louisiana in  hits, going 3-3 with two RBI. Chloe Gregg, Karlie Brewer and Layla Halford all drove in runs for the Louisiana All stars as well.

They were scheduled to be back in action Monday morning. That game was pushed until later due to the weather, however, the girls lost 4-3 to Prince George Royals.
