Smokey the Bear and a Ranger were in attendance at all local Discovery Camp locations, including Springhill. The ranger read the campers a story about Smokey’s origin story as well as his 5 Rules Of Preventing Wildfires and encouraged the campers to share what they learned with family and friends.

 Each branch manager presented their campers participation certificates (for at least five books read), completion medals and either a Magnetic Tile Kit (for younger campers) or National Geographic Kit (for the older campers) if they completed the program (at least 50 books read). Both types of kits were sponsored by Impact Oil And Gas. After the campers were awarded, they took photos with Smokey the Bear and enjoyed pizza.
