Here is one final look at the Chinook helicopters that used Minden’s airport as a training exercise location this past week.

Soldiers assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) operated a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) to provide ground support and fuel for the division’s Long Range Large Scale AIr Assault (L2A2) training operation at Minden AIrport, Minden La., August 13-14, 2024.

The 101st Airborne mobilized the 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team (Strike) from Fort Campbell, Ky., to the Joint Regional Training Center (JRTC) in Fort Johnson, La., to train and test their capability to move a large number of troops simultaneously over a long distance. As the world’s only Air Assault division, the Screaming Eagles specialize in using helicopters to move quickly and effectively within a tactical environment.
