While the weather was hot, Michael Walker said Prayer in the Park Saturday still boasted “a nice turnout.”
“We had wonderful fellowship with opening prayer by Bro. Chet Johnson of Eastside Baptist Church and after that SRO officer Brandy Powell talked to us about the safety in schools that’s in place for the kids,” Walker said. “John Gill Jr. sang a lovely song for us titled ‘Falling in Love with Jesus.’” Closing prayer was offered by Grady Smith of Mt. Zion CME Church.
Walker thanked the citizens of Minden for their support, as well as a special thanks to Frankie Rodgers and Tynesha Rushing Morris of Walmart #87 and Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Minden for refreshments.
“I can’t leave out my wife Chequella Walker who’s always in the background making sure everything goes right,” Walker said. “Also to my go-to guys Dominique Walker And and Kyle Allums. Until next year, thanks to all.”
