Webster Parish is one of 4 selected to receive a Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments (NLCOG) grant titled Safe Streets and Roads 4 All.
According to Amie Poladian, Springhill Main Street Executive Director, in order to receive funds, members of her community need to fill out a survey and the deadline is looming.
“We need as much community participation as we can get,” Poladian said. “The survey closes this Saturday, August 31.”
In order to encourage support and involvement, Poladian turned the process into a contest with prizes.
“We’ve received generous donations from two businesses in downtown Springhill that allow for 5 chances to win for survey participants,” she said. “Four (survey) participants will receive gift cards for a night at the movies for two at the Spring Theatre and one lucky grand-prize winner will win a movie night for two PLUS a $50 dinner gift certificate to Panda Garden.
“It’s exciting to see what a shared vision for a brighter tomorrow will bring to Webster Parish communities,” she added.
