Minden Sonic funds more than $5K in grant projects at local school

The Minden Sonic has funded more than $5K in DonorsChoose grant projects at E.S. Richardson Elementary.

DonorsChoose is a non-profit organization that allows individuals, businesses or other establishments to donate directly to a public-school project of their choosing. With today’s teachers spending an average of $500 every year out of their own pocket to ensure their students have the best learning experience, DonorsChoose made it their mission to bridge the gap by allowing them the freedom to post requests for specific classroom resources.

Some of the requests made by E.S. Richardson instructional staff and fulfilled by Minden Sonic include, headphones, math boards and dry erase boards for multiple classes.

“These materials will impact the learning of our students in such a positive way now and for many years to come,” said E.S. Richardson Principal Michelle Finley. “Sonic in Minden has helped ensure that our students have access to everything they need to be successful and stay actively engaged in learning. We are so thankful for community partners that support education.”
