Doyline Lady Panthers propel past Mansfield

Kaylee Johnson’s big two-hit, four-RBI day helped propel the Doyline Lady Panthers past Mansfield by an 18-8 score Tuesday.

Doyline rallied from a 4-0 first inning deficit, scoring 14 runs on five hits in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Savannah Stanley that drove in three. The Lady Panthers extended their lead with three more in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Raelynn Pease and Johnson.

Sariyah Gill started in the circle for Doyline and gave up two hits and eight runs (seven earned) over three innings while striking out five and walking six. Stanley pitched two innings of shutout relief for the Lady Panthers. King took the loss for Mansfield.

Lanie Gates set the tone from her leadoff spot, leading Doyline with three hits in five at bats. Gill led Doyline with three walks as the Lady Panthers collected 12 walks in the game.
