A Heflin woman is in custody charged with stabbing a man while his children were present at a residence on LA Hwy. 531 Friday during a domestic dispute.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said 36-year-old Donyetta D. Strange now faces charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and domestic abuse with child endangerment as the result of the incident.

Heflin police and sheriff’s deputies reportedly were called to the residence in the 7100 block of Hwy. 531 after receiving a report of a stabbing. On arrival, officers learned the victim had come to the residence with his children for a visit and a confrontation began.

During questioning, Strange reportedly admitted stabbing the victim. She also reportedly admitted a knife described by the victim as the weapon allegedly used in the attack belonged to her.

Deputy Jeff Hood reportedly interviewed the victim in Sibley and observed lacerations to his chest and lower right arm. The victim reportedly told the deputy the children witnessed the stabbing.

Strange reportedly was booked at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center and is currently being held in the parish jail. Her bond has been set at $50,500.
