Noah Spears collected three hits in four at bats and struck out 16 Simsboro hitters as starting pitcher, but it wasn’t enough as the Doyline Panthers lost to the Tigers by 4-3 Tuesday.
Doyline jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third inning on a two-RBI triple from Spears and a Jonas Florence run scoring single. Simsboro recaptured the lead, 4-3, in the top of the fifth when Chris Stevens singled and a run scored on a passed ball.
Chris Harrell earned the win for Simsboro, going the full seven innings while allowing six hits and three runs. He also recorded 10 strikeouts and walked two.
