Dorcheat Museum gets go-ahead for expansion

By Paige Gurgainers

For 18 years, the Dorcheat Historical Association Museum has been a vital part of the community for visitors of all ages, showcasing the stories and heritage that define Webster Parish. Tuesday, March 18, the board decided to move forward with a long-awaited expansion.

“To achieve this vision, we are seeking the support of community-minded people,” said executive director Jessica Gorman. “With your help we can enhance our exhibits, improve our facilities and expand our programming to better serve our community.”

Perryman Welding will oversee this expansion, in three stages.

Sponsors will not only play a vital role in preserving the history of the parish, support education and enhance the cultural fabric of our region, they will also receive numerous perks, including recognition at the museum’s annual gala in September along with two tickets, recognition on the museum’s website and social media platforms, a personal recognition plaque for your home or office, and your company name included on sponsor recognition signage in the museum.

The Dorcheat Historical Association Museum is offering the following sponsorship levels:

$250 Bronze, $500 Silver, $1,000 Gold, $2,500 Platinum, $5,000 Diamond and $10,000+ Sapphire.

According to Gorman donations can be made in honor or memory of loved ones and/or be made confidentially if the donor wishes.

“We are confident that your involvement in this expansion campaign will have a lasting impact on our community and the generations to come,” said Gorman. “We would be honored to have your company join us as a sponsor in this exciting endeavor.”

If interested in being a sponsor, please contact Gorman directly at (318)377-3002 or dorcheatmuseum@yahoo.com to discuss how you can partner with the museum in this meaningful project.
