Sarepta man arrested after LSP finds him asleep in vehicle on I-20

Trying to catch a little shuteye in a vehicle on the side of Interstate 20 has earned a Sarepta man a bed in the parish jail and a handful of charges including four for possession of illegal narcotics.

Louisiana State Trooper Daniel Albrecht reportedly stopped to investigate when he noticed a vehicle parked on the shoulder of I-20 just before 4 a.m. Saturday. Inside, he found he driver, 31-year-old Curtis Rabb, slumped back in the driver’s seat and asleep.

According to his arrest report, the trooper noticed Rabb had the odor of alcohol on his breath and other indications of impairment. The trooper also  reportedly observed marijuana, methamphetamine pills and Clonazepam in plain view, plus an open beer container in the center console.

Rabb reportedly was taken into custody and is charged with DWI first offense, no drivers license, violation of open container law, possession CDS Sch. I (marijuana) possession CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines), two counts possession CDS Sch. IV (Clonazepam).

He currently is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center under an $8,503 bond. Rabb reportedly was recently arrested and convicted for possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of CDS Sch. I with intent to distribute.
