
Glenbrook’s Lady Apaches scored 15 runs in the second inning on their way to a convincing 18-3 win over Hanson Thursday in first round play of the LHSAA Division IV (Select) state playoffs.
With the win, the Lady Apaches advance to play number 7 seed Sacred Heart on Wednesday.
Gabi Brown’s two-run homer got things rolling before Ellie Earnhardt singled to drive in one run and Colby Hollis connected for a two-run single. Anna Vining and Brown had RBI singles wrapped around a Lady Tigers’ error to complete the scoring in the big inning.
Glenbrook padded their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Hadley Haynes and Earnhardt.
Savannah Mangrum got the win for Glenbrook and Rebecca Mosley came on in relief in the third.
Earnhardt had two hits and four RBI for the Lady Apaches while Brown, Hadley Haynes, Gracie Heard, and Anna Vining each collected two hits.
