Minden woman charged with theft of money at closed Goodwill Road truck stop

Surveillance footage helped Webster Parish deputies close an investigation that lasted just three hours, leading to the arrest of a Minden woman who allegedly stole money after breaking into the office of a Goodwill Rd. truck stop early Wednesday.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said Judith Taylor Brown, 30, a Meadow Creek Rd. resident, is charged with simple burglary after she allegedly used a fire extinguisher to break a door knob and force her way into the office around 5:30 a.m.

Investigating officers said once the suspect gained entry, the camera shows her using a screwdriver to pry open a file cabinet and take money from a drawer. At the time of her arrest just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers said Brown had a money bag containing $640 in case.

Brown reportedly admitted she had taken the money from the truck stop office. She reportedly is being held in the parish jail. No bond has been set on the felony charge.
