Two persons received superficial injuries when multiple shooters opened fire in a Cotton Valley neighborhood in the early morning hours Sunday, according to Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker.
Parker said Webster Parish investigators are currently assisting Cotton Valley police in looking into potential motives for the shooting which occurred sometime around 12:30 a.m.
“What we know right now is multiple shooters drove into the neighborhood, exited a vehicle and fired many shots, mostly at parked vehicles,” Parker said. “The two female victims were the only persons outside at the time and apparently were struck by bullet fragments. Their injuries, thankfully, were not serious.”
Parker said his investigators and Cotton Valley police have collected evidence from the scene and are continuing to conduct interviews with potential witnesses.
“We’re very early into the investigation right now, but we will continue to work with Cotton Valley to gather information,” he said.
Parker said anyone with information about Sunday’s shooting should not hesitate to call his office at 318-377-1515.
