United States Congressman Mike Johnson awarded Jerry W. Madden of Minden with the Certificate of Congressional Commendation 2025 Spirit of Louisiana Community Award on April 23, 2025, for his “dedicated service to the community of Webster Parish.”
Madden was also presented with a commemorative coin from Speaker Mike Johnsons 4th Louisiana District. The coin had the 56th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives on one side. Many people from neighboring parishes were also awarded including a 106-year-old World War II veteran. Many area artists were also awarded and their work was displayed. The event was named Art Show & Community Awards Ceremony which took place at the Louisiana Tech Academic Success Center on the BPCC Campus.
