The LSU AgCenter Northwest Region’s annual Master Cattleman Class completed its 10-week run on Tuesday, April 28, 2025, with a graduation ceremony that included two Webster Parish residents.
This year’s course was held at the LSU AgCenter Red River Research Station in Bossier City. Over the course of 10 weeks, graduates learned valuable information about all phases of beef production including nutrition, reproduction, herd health, pastures and forages, cattle handling, economics, marketing, weed control, the end product, and more.
As part of completing the Master Cattleman Class, graduates became Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certified as well. Producers who completed the course included Viktoria Moczygemba, David Womack, Jason Vaughan, Danielle Vaughan, Lee Rodgers, Adam Caughern, Shawn Wright, Jake Spinney, Kennon Gaspard, Kole Gaspard, Charles Woods (not pictured) and Craig Smith, both from Webster Parish, Bart Dobson and Dr. Brent Green.
The Louisiana Master Cattleman Program was developed in 2004 to increase cattle producers’ knowledge of the cattle industry and help them become more profitable.
