A Minden woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a two-year-old child who allegedly was left unattended and locked in a car seat at her Young St. residence.
Minden Chief of Police Jared McIver said 23-year-old Keatavia Morris was booked Wednesday afternoon on charges of negligent homicide and child desertion. She is being held on bonds totaling $325,000.
McIver said the charges stem from an incident last month where two young children were allegedly left alone in the residence and locked in car seats. A 10-month-old child was also found, but was unharmed.
Investigators said the child was taken by private vehicle to Minden Medical Center where she was declared deceased after attempts to revive her proved unsuccessful.
Charges were filed after investigators completed viewing film and received autopsy reports, the Chief said.
