Juneteenth celebration chairman Michael Walker said Minden citizens showed up to support the 2025 event last Thursday.

“We had something for everyone from this history of Juneteenth to live entertainment, jumping houses, food vendors, non-food vendors,” Walker said. “We had some there to check your blood pressure and blood sugar levels and a live deejay”

Walker gave a shout-out to his Juneteenth committee.

“Without those guys I couldn’t have done it,” he said. “It’s only going to get bigger and better for years to come. I love my small town with a big heart.”
