A search is on for the individual who reportedly fired multiple shots at a vehicle near Harris Corner store at the intersection of Fort St. and E. Union (Hwy 80 east) Tuesday afternoon.

Minden Chief of Police Jared McIver said detectives have identified a potential suspect and are gathering evidence to produce an arrest warrant.

According to McIver, around 7:30 p.m. the gunman apparently stepped from a vehicle across the street from the convenience store and fired multiple shots toward another vehicle which had stopped at a stop sign on Fort St. at E. Union.

“That vehicle was struck several times, but no one was reported injured,” the Chief said.

Officers had a description of the alleged shooter’s vehicle, and an alert to be on the lookout reportedly was issued. Later Tuesday, MPD Officer Kendale Booker reportedly spotted the vehicle at a residence on East St.

Patrol officers and members of the department’s Special Response Team (SRT) reportedly responded to the location around 9:30 p.m., but no suspects were located during a search of the residence and surrounding area.

During a search of the vehicle suspected to be involved, officers reportedly discovered evidence connecting it to the shooting.
