A tasty success: MyPlate meets Charcuterie 101

By Shakera Williams, DrHSc, MPH, Associate Extension Agent, Nutrition & Community Health

The My Plate Meets Charcuterie 101 class at the LSU AgCenter of Webster Parish on Monday afternoon was a great success! Everyone had fun learning how to make charcuterie boards that are both tasty and healthy. Using the MyPlate food guide, the class showed how to include fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy in creative ways. Participants got to try new foods, pick up easy tips for building balanced boards, and share ideas with each other. The hands-on activities helped make healthy eating simple and enjoyable. Many people said they felt confident and excited to make their own boards at home. It was a fun and educational event that brought the community together around good food and smart choices. Due to the positive response, we hope to schedule another class soon.
