A Calcasieu Parish man has been booked on a charge of indecent behavior with juveniles following an investigation into an alleged sexual abuse complaint involving a young child.

Minden Chief of Police Jared McIver said 56-year-old Robert C. Deaver of Moss Bluff was arrested Monday on a warrant obtained following an investigation of the July 14 complaint filed by the victim’s mother.

McIver said Deaver surrendered himself into custody and was booked following a recorded interview with MPD Det. Matthew Hicks.

Investigators reportedly secured the arrest warrant based on evidence obtained from a forensic interview at the Gingerbread House and a witness interview.

Deaver is currently being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center under a $150,000 bond.
