Dragons respect colors

Dubberly, Louisiana -Wednesday, August, a new group of students were inaugurated into the Central Elementary Flag Brigade.  Mr. Jerry and Mrs. Cindy Madden shared with students the significance of the flag and the ways to show reverence to the flag.  These ideas included the symbolism behind the stars and stripes and how those have a historical significance to our country.

More than anything, they showed the proper etiquette for handling the American flag. Students learned the proper way to fold, display and dispose of the flag.  Principal, Daniel Lee, advocates, “As a former history history teacher, but more importantly as a proud American, I feel it is my duty to ensure our students at Central understand that the flag is so much more than a piece of cloth.”  Lee’s actions reflect this as each year he chooses students he knows will serve as campus leaders of patriotism and loyalty.

This year’s Flag Brigade consists of: Xavier Brown,Evan Harmon, Maddox Perkins,  Wyatt Harrell

Brayden Kendrick, Xander Middleton, Laramie Daniels, Kayden Brown, and Macie Morton.
