First MPA banquet deemed successful

Pledging allegiance to the American flag.

A good size crowd brought in a lot of money to benefit a local organization Saturday.

Minden Police Association’s first banquet raised more than $11,000 … just during the event.

“That’s not counting everything we made prior to that night,” said organizer C.J. Cheatham.

Richard Campbell served as auctioneer, and there was a large number of raffle items and give-aways. A meal was catered by Hugh Wood and his team.

Proceeds will aid MPA in purchasing items needed for officers to do their jobs.
