Tuesday night brought another home game for your Glenbrook Elementary Apaches where they speared the FCCS Warriors by a score of 35-0. The captains for the night were 6th grade team leaders, Big G-Grayson Avery, Hollywood Ryder Hollingsworth, Easy E- Everett Tucker.

FCCS won toss and elected to receive the opening possession. Your Apache defense came onto the field ready to hold the Warriors at bay. In the opening series, Easy E and King Cade blew up the big and shifty Warrior RB for big loss.  On the 3rd and long, the Apaches forced a fumble that Mad Maddox Tibbitt recovered to give the Apache offense life on the Warrior 20-yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, the Apaches offensive line lead by Big Gravy- Grayson Avery and Oh Captain, My Captain Powell opened a hole big enough for an F-150 to cruise through that propelled the Blonde Bullet Brant Bridges to a 20-yard touchdown. Hammering Hank blistered behind the Brant Brothers, B-Hud and the Bullet himself for the extra point. The Apaches out front 7-0 quickly.

On the ensuing defensive possession the Apaches defense, Oh Captain and Easy E- Everett made tackles for no gain to bring up 3rd and 9. Mega Man-Marshall Duck came up with the big stop to force the Warrior punt.

The Apaches offense took over on their own 38-yard line and all it took was one play. Hollywood Hollingsworth called for the snap, play actioned the handoff up the middle that froze the defense, and fired a missile 46-yards in air that found the velvet hands of the Ice Man-Cullen Adkins in stride for the 62-yard touchdown. The extra point run up the middle was successful. The Apaches lead grew to 14-0 with 1:23 left in the first.

The Apaches defense stayed on fire with Mega Man and Oh Captain with the big hits for a loss.  The defense forced a 3rd and 12 quickly. The big Warrior running back found a little daylight around the end and picked up 6 yards, but the defense forced another punt.

The Apaches offense would stall on the next possession and gave the ball back to the Warriors in plus field territory with 4:07 left in the half. The Apache defense led by King Cade and Laser Levi Ray brought up another 3rd and long for the Warriors offense. Miles Mack McCullough, who played with his hair on fire, came in on defense and made a great first down saving tackle on the sidelines that brought up 4th down. The Apaches stuffed the run for the turnover on downs. The Apaches ran a hurry-up offense with 1:15 left in the half. Hollywood found Mega Man-Marshall Duck for a gain of 30 on a beautiful pass and route. The next play, Action Jackson Shipp took the end around, made a beautiful cut behind his blocker and raced for another Apache TD from 41-yards out. Hollywood found the Mega Man in the numbers for the 2pt conversion.

On defense Myles Mack kept the hit stick rolling with two big tackles on the big Warrior QB. With 2 seconds left in the half, Wrecking Waylon Chapman made a great pursuit on the Warrior RB from a caught swing pass, and laid the wood to close the half with the Apaches up 22-0.

At half, everyone’s favorite cheer squad took to the field to get the Apache fan base roaring! The Apaches Cheerleaders dazzled the crowd during the break with awesome dancing and cheering. Darien Madden and Courtney Alston have done a great job with the elementary cheer squads!

The Apaches offense started the 2nd half. The running game found great success on the opening drive with Mega Man-Marshall Duck, Laser Levi Ray, Hollywood Hollingsworth and Hammering Hank all toting the rock, Apache first down. The Apache offense had the Chain Gang running wide sprints down the field. I think Marvelous Mark Hay and The Chef-Cody Avery were denied a water break by a wide eyed official, who was also winded….. On the next play, Hammering Hank laid out the outside linebacker for Laser Levi who made a great move to break down the Warrior safety for another Apache TD. The Apaches led 29-0 in the third.

The Apaches second team defense showed some life with Action Jackson Shipp that pulled out a big lick. The Apaches defense brought up a 3rd down and 7 after Big Gravy made a Madden 2009 hit stick that brought up a 4th and 1, but the Warriors picked up the first down after a gain of 3 yards. That marked just the 2nd first down allowed by the Apache defense in the game. The Warriors found some rhythm and ran the ball on the outside for nice gains, but the Apache defense found some ground and forced a 4th and 10 after a tandem tackle by Hollywood and Wrecking Waylon. The Warriors attempted a deep pass but The Titan Tate Mandino nearly picked off the Warrior QB for a turnover on downs. The Apaches 6th graders all played different positions on offense where Warren Johnson and Captain Powell toted the rock and picked up big yards, but the Snail himself, Hagan Hay, picked up a big 30-yard gain on an inside run. With the clock inside 10-seconds, the high revving, Warren Johnson found paydirt after a hard run on a fake reverse to run it in as the clock expired. Your Apaches took the W, 35-0.

Immediately following and just for funzies, the 2/3/4th grade Apaches split into Red and Blue Jerseys for an inter-team scrimmage.

Blue Team started with the ball and Hulk Hurley ran with passion but was forced to punt. Red Team picked up the ball, moving it well with Big Mac Brooks McCullough made a great move and picked a giant gain. The next play Awesome Austin ran it around the end for a touchdown and broke 5 tackles. Red led 7-0 to close the first.

Blue Team had the ball back on offense and picked up a quick 5 yards but faced a 4th down and 5. After some trickery the Red Team stopped a potential touchdown on what some (Coach Alex) would call a controversial play stoppage by first time whistling zebra, Nick Rowton. Nonetheless the ball was turned over on downs. Red Team took over in plus territory. BK Ingles made a great tackle for the Blue Team for loss, but the next play Awesome Austin picked up a fumbled snap and ran 70-yards across the field, doubled back and outran everybody in the industrialized city of Minden, down the sideline for another TD. BK Ingles blew up the extra point, but Red Team led 13-0. On the Blue offensive possession, The Hulk dropped a dime into the hands of BK on what would’ve been a near touchdown, but the fiery second grader, Crazy Cash Smith blew him up behind the line for a great tackle to close the half.

Red Team started on offense and Big Mack took a hard snap and found the Wildman, Wilder Butler deep behind the defense but the lightning-fast BK Ingles ran him down and tackled Wildman on the two, but not before a giant gain of 50 yards. The Red Team punched it in for another score. Red led 19-0.

Hulk Hurley made a great play on the next set, but the Red Team brought up 4th down on what would’ve been a touchdown. The ball fell just out of the hands of Mega Martin Smith for turnover on downs. The Blue Team defense stepped up to force a 3rd down and cab ride. Mega Martin Smith ran in like his hair was on fire with the big stick to thwart the extra point in the backfield. The second graders played big and learned a great deal. Bad Brooks Boyd made a great tackle with 10sec left to close out the fun games. It was a night full of fun for the young Apache squad and the parents cheering them on in the stands. Come cheer on the Little Apaches this Monday, at 6pm for the last home game of the season as the Apaches look to extend their winning streaks against the rival, Cedar Creek Cougars.  As the older Apaches led the call up, FAMILY ON ME, FAMILY ON THREE, 1-2-3 FAMILY! GO APACHES!
