A Sibley woman is currently being held in the parish jail after she allegedly fired shots in the direction of her husband.

Tina Alford Montgomery, 54, is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm after Webster Parish deputies arrested her in connection with the Friday afternoon incident at her E. Justin Dr. address.

Deputies Zane Crittenden and Sgt. Damian Christian responded to a call of a disturbance with shots fired shortly before 3 p.m. where they reportedly learned Montgomery and her husband had argued earlier in the day.

Deputies were told by Montgomery’s husband that he heard a gunshot as he sat in his recliner, followed by a second shot after he allegedly told his wife, “You better not be shooting at me.”

During a search of the residence, deputies located a Glock .22 caliber handgun with a partially filled magazine in a dresser of the bedroom. Two unfired cartridges reportedly were found on the floor near the bedroom door, and one fired cartridge was found behind the dresser.

From the bedroom door, deputies observed bullet entrance holes in the floor of the residence in the direction of the victim’s chair. Several marks indicating bullet ricochets were reportedly observed on the ceiling.

While being questioned, Montgomery reportedly admitted to the deputies that she had fired shots at the floor.
