Special council meeting to address revenue bond sales for Minden Recreation Center

Minden City Council will meet in special session Monday to adopt an ordinance that will allow the City to fund the rehabilitation of the Minden Recreation Center.

Ordinance No 1163 allows for the incurring of debt and issuance and sale of $9,935,000 of sales tax revenue bonds.

In June, the council approved a resolution authorizing the city to proceed with issuance of (not to exceed) $10,500,000 of bonds to help with the enhancement, which includes the addition of fields, walking trails, playground equipment, as well as turfing the baseball and softball in-fields.

Today’s meeting will take place at 1 p.m. in the Cypress Conference Room at Minden City Hall. The public is invited to attend.
