Minden Medical Center hosts Organ Donor Drive to save lives

Minden, Louisiana – Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – In an effort to raise awareness and increase the number of registered organ and tissue donors, Minden Medical Center is hosting a Community Organ Donor Drive on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in the Minden Medical Center Cafeteria, from 1:30 until 3 p.m.

This life-saving initiative invites residents of all ages to learn more about organ donation and take a few minutes to register as organ donors. Representatives from Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA) will be on hand to provide information, answer questions, and assist with on-site registration.

“One organ donor can save up to eight lives and enhance the lives of dozens more through tissue donation,” said Keith Cox, CEO of Minden Medical Center.  “Our goal is to empower the community with knowledge and make it easy for people to take that important step to become a donor.”

There are currently over 100,000 people in the U.S. waiting for a life-saving organ transplant, and thousands more who need tissue or corneal transplants to improve their quality of life. By registering, residents can help bring hope to those waiting and their families.
