Get ready for a day of shopping, food, music and community connection as “Shop the Block – A Celebration in Downtown Minden” returns on Saturday, February 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the heart of downtown Minden’s Main Street District.
This event, organized by Minden Main Street and the Greater Minden Chamber, invites residents and visitors alike to support local businesses and enjoy a vibrant downtown experience.
Shop the Block showcases the best that Minden’s local merchants have to offer, with a variety of vendors and storefronts opening their doors for a festive day of browsing and buying. From boutique clothing and gifts to artisan crafts and specialty goods, attendees will find unique items while supporting the small businesses that make the downtown district thrive.
The celebration also features delicious food from local restaurants and a lively atmosphere with music provided by DJ Milford Parker, near Pippa Lane and Purvey – making it a true community event that blends shopping with entertainment and social time.
“Shop the Block is all about celebrating our downtown and small businesses that make it special,” said Minden Economic Director and Main Street Board member Sarah Overall. “This quarterly event encourages our community to shop local, enjoy the charm of our brick streets and come together for a fun afternoon. In addition to offering a great day out in downtown Minden, Shop the Block plays a role in strengthening the city’s economic and social fabric.”
Whether you’re checking out the latest inventory at your favorite shops, grabbing lunch with friends or discovering something new, Shop the Block is a perfect way to enjoy all that downtown Minden has to offer while celebrating the spirit of local enterprise.
