A pair of Minden brothers have been arrested for cruelty to the infirmed after police officers discovered their elderly mother living in what was described as “unlivable” conditions.
William Mansell, Jr., 67, and Paul Edward Mansell, 62, are being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where both face a $25,000 bond on the charge.
Officers reportedly were called to a residence Friday in the 500 block of Kennon St. by hospice workers who were unable to make contact with their patient.
After gaining entry, officers reportedly found the bedridden victim with bruises and sores over her body. During their investigation, officers determined the woman had not been fed for days.
This information has been provided by a law enforcement agency as public information. Persons named as suspects in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not been convicted of any criminal offense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
