The United Christian Assistance Program (UCAP) is on its way to fulfilling its annual budget with the 2026 “Hungerfest” bringing in over $13,000 Thursday night at the First Methodist Church of Minden. The largest crowd ever included many new bidders, who got to enjoy a soup and crackers supper, music by Tim Kennedy, Leah Lummus, and Matthew Hirsch, and the antics of auctioneers Dr. Richard Campbell and Tracy Campbell. “I thought it was really great – the best we’ve had,” said UCAP director Charlotte Jones. “We were very pleased with everything – THANK YOU, MINDEN.” The next fundraiser will be the annual golf tournament this summer at Pine Hills Country Club.
