An Arkansas man has learned the Louisiana reception for persons in possession of a quantity of illegal narcotics and a firearm can be a little harsh.

Christopher Adcox, a 54-year-old Magnolia resident, is currently in Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center following his arrest Saturday in Springhill.

Adcox reportedly was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by Springhill officers for a traffic violation. During a subsequent probable cause search of Adcox, the officers reportedly found a small bag of methamphetamines and a pipe used to smoke narcotics.

Another passenger in the vehicle reportedly informed officer that methamphetamines could be found in a red case inside the vehicle. When the tool box was searched, several bags containing approximately 22.85 grams of methamphetamines were found.

An additional 2.25 grams of methamphetamines was also discovered in the vehicle’s visor.

While searching beneath the passenger seat in which Adcox reported was sitting, officers also found a .32 caliber handgun. Several bullets reportedly were found on Adcox’s person. During questioning after his rights were read, Adcox reportedly admitted the drugs and firearm were his.

Charges against Adcox include possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines) with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of firearm in presence of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond has not been set.

This information has been provided by a law enforcement agency as public information. Persons named as suspects in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not been convicted of any criminal offense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
