First-ever Sip and Stroll deemed successful

Despite temperatures climbing in the Louisiana summer heat, residents and visitors packed downtown Minden on Saturday, June 27, for the inaugural Sip and Stroll hosted by Minden Main Street and the Historic District.

The event, held from 4 to 8 p.m., brought a festive atmosphere to the heart of downtown as participating businesses opened their doors and vendors lined the streets, creating a lively shopping and social experience.

Attendees purchased $20 wristbands that granted them access to participating shops, where they could sample a variety of beverages and food offerings while strolling from business to business. The event encouraged guests to explore downtown, discover local businesses and spend an evening connecting with friends and neighbors.

Adding to the atmosphere was live music by Cynthia Sandidge, whose performance provided the soundtrack for an evening.

While the summer heat was certainly noticeable, the strong turnout made the event’s debut a success. The inaugural Sip and Stroll showcased the community’s enthusiasm for unique downtown experiences and highlighted the continued momentum behind efforts to support and celebrate Minden’s local businesses.

With a great crowd and positive response from attendees and merchants alike, Saturday’s Sip and Stroll marked a promising beginning for what many hope will become a favorite downtown tradition.
