Operating an off-road vehicle on a parish roadway got the attention of a couple of Minden’s top lawmen and the resulting traffic stop has led to a more serious charge against a local man.
Chief of Police Jared McIver reportedly stopped 32-year-old Brent Duane Sikes around 1:45 Tuesday at the intersection of Pine St. and Methodist Camp Rd. for driving his dirt bike on the roadway.
With the assistance of Ward Marshal Dan Weaver, a search reportedly uncovered 1.135 grams of methamphetamines on Sikes’ person.
Sikes reportedly is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where he is charged with possession of CDS Sch. II (methamphetamines) and operating an off-road vehicle on a roadway. His bond has been set at $2,501.
