After winning Louisiana state championships, the Minden 9U baseball and 15U softball All-Stars are set to represent Louisiana this week in Diamond Youth World Series competition.

The Minden 9U All-Stars earned their berth by completing an undefeated run through the Louisiana Diamond Youth State Tournament, finishing 6-0 and defeating Alexandria 14-0 in the championship game.

The Minden 15U All-Stars also claimed the Louisiana Diamond Youth Softball State Championship with an unbeaten tournament run to earn their place in the World Series.

The 9U team will compete in Montgomery, Alabama, while the 15U softball team travels to Laurel, Mississippi.
KASO Radio, AM 1240, will provide game results, schedules, and tournament updates throughout the week as both teams compete for World Series titles.

Thursday’s Schedule: 9U Baseball World Series, Montgomery, Alabama:
9 a.m. Minden vs. Magnolia, Arkansas

3:15 p.m. Minden vs. Municipal, Alabama

15U Softball World Series, Laurel, Mississippi
11:00 a.m. Minden vs. Pleasant View, Tennessee

Following Friday’s games, teams will advance to championship bracket play based on pool play results.

Friday – 15U Softball

If Minden defeats Pleasant View, Tennessee, the All-Stars will play Friday at 3:15 p.m. against the winner of Carthage, Mississippi and Tri-Cities, Texas.

If Minden falls in Thursday’s opener, Minden will play Friday at 12:30 p.m. against the loser of Perry Junior League, Georgia and Laurel-Jones County, Mississippi.

Bracket play continues Saturday, with the championship scheduled for Sunday.
